Why The Roku Xd Is A Media Game Changer

Hd Media Player

It wasn't that long ago that I remember watching Cable Tv for the first time. I remember using the giant, grid channel changer box. It had a wire that ran to Cable console. Now we can stream movies and digital content level to our home theater systems. Things are changing quick in this space and the Roku box is one of the leaders.

Roku means six in Japanese. Supposedly Roku Ceo Anthony Wood named the company since it was the sixth flourishing company he would be involved in. So, what's so special about Roku? Well, for starters, let's being with what the Roku box is. The Roku box is a dedicated box to handle streamed, digital media. Now, that may not seem impressive until you perceive what that means.

Roku is also incredibly small, incredibly powerful, and inexpensive. The Roku Xd is 4.9 x 4.9 x 1.2 inches and it weighs only 2 pounds. It fits incredibly well into any home theater setup. Habitancy normally don't consideration it until I point it out. Roku Xd includes ports on the back that include: Hdmi, composite, and ethernet. It also includes an internal, extended wireless N connection. And it can render in 1080p resolution. Yep, it's small and mighty.

Now, we get to the good stuff. The setup should take you 5 minutes. I'm not kidding. And studying to operate the Roku Xd precisely takes less than a minute. Sure, you have to get used to menu structure, but operating it is very easy. Roku includes Netflix, Pandora, Amazon's video on demand, Hulu Plus, Mlb.com, etc. And they are permanently adding new features. In fact, I was just playing the special "Yule Log" channel this weekend. You practically feel warmer with that burning log in the fireplace.

I was so impressed with the Roku box that I went out convincing my family to try it. They were all mesmerized. For under 0, you can get entrance to tons of programming. And it's a la carte. Yep, no more watching channels that you don't need or ever want. I think you can start to see why this is a game changer.

Roku puts you in charge. You can rent 5.1 channel Hd videos from Amazon. You can subscribe to Netflix for like a month and watch unlimited movies. You can pipe your music through your home theater system. And do it for minimal ongoing cost. It's incredible. You have music, movies, shows, documentaries, podcasts, etc. All at your fingertips. And they are adding new features all the time.

The Roku Xd box is already changing the face of home media. The small, reasonable workhorse can bring you only what you want at minimal ongoing cost. If that isn't a game changer, I don't know what would be.
